Professor Nobuyoshi Yabuki
Prof. Nobuyoshi Yabuki
Prof. Nobuyoshi Yabuki is a Professor in the Division of Sustainable Energy and Environmental Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka University , Japan . He leads the Environmental Design and Information Technology Laboratory there. Before joining Osaka University , he was an associate professor at Muroran Institute of Technology from 1999 to 2008. He worked for the Electric Power Development Co., Ltd., from 1982 to 1999. He obtained his Ph.D. (1992) and M.S. (1989) in civil engineering at Stanford University , USA , as a Fulbright Scholarship recipient. He obtained his B.E. (1982) in civil engineering at the University of Tokyo .

Prof. Yabuki's research interests include development of product models, Building Information Modeling (BIM), application of VR and AR to civil and building engineering, 4D CAD, RFID and sensors for inspection and monitoring of structures, knowledge discovery from large amount of sensor and product model data, etc. He has authored over one hundred journal and international conference papers. He leads the Civil Engineering Committee of buildingSMART IAI Japan and Cyber & Real Infrastructure Modeling Sub-Committee of Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE). Prof. Yabuki is a member of JSCE, ASCE, IEEE, ACM, AIJ, VR Society of Japan , Japan Society of Kansei Engineering, etc.

Associate Professor Tomohiro Fukuda
Assoc. Prof. Tomohiro Fukuda
Prof. Tomohiro Fukuda is an associate professor in the Division of Sustainable Energy and Environmental Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka University, Japan. He majors in the Environmental Design and Information Technology. Before joining Osaka University, he worked for the Matsushita Electric Works Co., Ltd., from 1996 to 2004. He obtained his Dr. Eng. (1999) in environmental engineering at Osaka University.
Prof. Fukuda's research interests include environmental design, development of digital design or communication tool using VR, MR and 3DCG, and application of the system, etc. He has joined domestic/international research/design projects such as Patio Design in Takamatsu, Kobunaki Eco village in Omihachiman and Next Gene 21+ in Taiwan. He is a member of AIJ (Architectural Institute of Japan), JSCE (Japan Society of Civil Engineers), CAADRIA (Computer Aided Architectural Design Research In Asia), etc. He is also a large physical model production member of the aqua metropolis Osaka for Tadao Ando Architectural Exhibition 2009, an executive board member of the Non Profit Orgamization Alternative Tourism Club, and a tourist guide of Osaka community-based tourism. He won the highest award of the Kobe lighting design competition (2001), etc. He wrote a book titled "VR Presentation and New Urban Development" (in Japanese).
